Arctic Falls celebrates the 30th anniversary of its Vitberget facility

Last week on January 11, Arctic Falls celebrated 30 years since the opening of its Vitberget proving ground. This widely used facility was Sweden’s first permanent, land-based winter vehicle testing base.
Back in 1988, it had four test tracks, two workshops and four cold storage areas. Today the facility offers 18 test tracks, five workshops, 35 cold storage areas and is also equipped with conferencing facilities, a fueling station and a car wash. Since its establishment, the total track area has almost quadrupled, from 170.6ft² to 630,000ft² (52,000m² to 192,000m²) today.
Every year, Arctic Falls hosts approximately 1,000 visitors, mainly from Europe and around 500 vehicles are tested on-site.
